Baku: Media representatives have familiarized themselves with the work carried out within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) at the Baku Olympic Stadium, APA reports. Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company, media executives, journalists, and bloggers participated in the media tour.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the media representatives first took part in the accreditation process. It was stated that the event hall where the opening and closing ceremonies of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) will be held will be able to accommodate up to 6,000 participants. It was noted that the total operational area formed in and around the Baku Olympic Stadium, which is the event venue, covers 53 hectares. Of this, 43 hectares have been designated as the main event venue, while 10 hectares have been planned as the main transport terminal and parking-transfer zone.
The executive director stated that the WUF13 venue has been organized in a campus-style format. 'It will be possible to move from the media center to any other point. Informational boards have been installed throughout the Baku Olympic Stadium.' To ensure uninterrupted internet, broadcasting, and digital operational needs of the event, primary and backup data centers, large-scale fiber-optic and internal network infrastructure, wireless network equipment, and an operations center that will function continuously have been established. In addition, the zone covering two hectares includes the 'Media Center' as well as 'Round Table', 'Special Session', and 'Dialogue Halls'.
The 'Media Center' includes a workspace, live broadcast and interview rooms, a press conference hall, TV studios, and a recreation area for media representatives. Media representatives were informed that people wearing national clothing will be present in the area during the forum days.
Afterwards, the media representatives also familiarized themselves with the Media Hub and the hall where the opening and closing ceremonies of the forum will be held. It was noted that 41 countries will participate in the pavilions to be organized within the framework of WUF13. The area of the Azerbaijan pavilion is 1,500 square meters. At the end of the media tour, Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the Operations Company, answered journalists' questions.
