Baku: A traditional media tour, “Following the President’s Footsteps,” was organized in the Fuzuli district, as reported by APA’s Karabakh bureau. Media representatives first visited the Garakhanbeyli village, where they were briefed on the new village development plans.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Leyla Sarabi, the press secretary of the Reconstruction, Construction, and Management Service in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, provided journalists with detailed information about the village to be constructed. The foundation of the village was laid by the head of state, and it will serve as a new home for the residents of the Garakhanbeyli and Merdinli villages, which suffered destruction during the Armenian occupation.

The project will be executed in two phases. The first phase, anticipated to be completed next year, will cover approximately 87 hectares. During this phase, 404 families, totaling 1,861 individuals, are expected to be resettled. The area will see the construction of 404 individual houses, including 81 two-room, 202 three-room, 101 four-room, and 20 five-room homes. Additionally, the village will have social infrastructure, including administrative and service buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a medical center, and approximately 16 kilometers of internal roads, as well as essential utilities like electricity, gas, water, and sewage lines.

Sarabi further detailed that the second phase, scheduled for 2027-2030, will be implemented over an area of about 230 hectares. This phase aims to relocate 1,075 families, comprising 4,093 people. Plans include constructing 771 individual houses with varied room configurations, along with two-three-story residential buildings. The second phase also encompasses the building of a school and two kindergartens, with considerations for the village’s 20-year developmental trajectory in terms of population and housing.
