Member of Syrian Parliament Announces Azerbaijan’s Commitment to Syrian School Restoration

Baku: 'Azerbaijan will support the restoration of 100 schools and the reconstruction of 10 others in Syria,' said Tarik Sulo Cevizci, a member of the Syrian Parliament representing Aleppo, at the second 'Turkman Heritage: Solidarity of Civil Societies' Forum held in Baku. The event was organized by the Bridge Center for Turkman Heritage Studies under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in partnership with the Agency on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Cevizci emphasized that Azerbaijan was among the first countries to establish contact with the new leadership after the beginning of a new era in Syria. He noted that Azerbaijan demonstrated its readiness to develop cooperation by sending diplomatic representatives to Syria and had played an important role in the restoration of relations between the two countries.

Cevizci further mentioned that this year, for the first time, Syrian students will arrive in Azerbaijan within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Program.
