Ankara: Member of the Security and Foreign Policy Committee under the President of Trkiye, Professor Mehmet Akif Kire§ci, has emphasized the importance of opening the Zangezur Corridor earlier than planned. He argues that this move would be beneficial in the context of the ongoing US-Iran-Israel war, which is creating new global crises.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kire§ci, in an interview with APA's Trkiye bureau, noted that countries worldwide are facing significant crisis risks. He highlighted that Azerbaijan's strategic importance is increasing due to its oil and gas resources, while Trkiye plays a key role in ensuring regional stability.

Kire§ci further explained that Trkiye is actively working to transform conflicts, which could impact both itself and Azerbaijan, into opportunities for peace. He pointed out that the wars in the region have adverse effects on the economy and noted that countries like Japan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and India are experiencing tense situations. In response, Trkiye is exploring alternative routes through Iraq and other regions while supporting the Zangezur Corridor's opening.

He stressed that the rapid growth of crises is affecting global trade and resource flow, underscoring the need for multiple transport routes. Kire§ci expressed his belief that the Zangezur Corridor could foster peace and that its early opening would be advantageous. However, he mentioned that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye alone is insufficient; Central Asian countries must also be prepared for this process.
