The Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations held a facility civil defense exercise on the theme “Organizing management of civil defense bodies and forces when eliminating the emergency situations” at the “Absheronneft” Oil and Gas Extraction Department of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan, located in Pirallahi district of Baku.

The exercise aimed at verifying the reality of the civil defense action plan, increasing the knowledge and skills of the staff involved in the exercise in the field of civil defense, organizing mutual activity between the forces and instilling practical skills in this field.

The event was attended by Head of the Baku Regional Center, Major General Maharram Hasanov, Head of the Pirallahi District Executive Authority Vasif Imanov, Acting Head of the “Absheronneft” OGED Balali Jafarov and heads of the district’s law enforcement agencies and related organizations.

The forces of Baku Regional Center, State Fire Protection Service, Special Risky Rescue and Medical Service of the MES, Pirallahi District Emergency Commission and Civil Defense headquarters, areal civil defense forces, facility’s officials and staff of the Civil Defense teams, as well as students of the National Aviation Academy were involved in the exercise.

First, the participants observed a minute of silence to honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our lands and the territorial integrity of our country.

During the exercise, the staff’s activities on warning about the emergency situation, gathering, as well as eliminating the consequences of the extreme situation and organizing general management were evaluated, as well as reports on functional tasks were heard.

Also, workers were evacuated from the “dangerous area”, reconnaissance was carried out “at the site”, “injured people were removed from the accident zone and provided with first aid”, as well as mutual activity was organized between the facility forces and the MES forces while “extinguishing the fire”.

After the exercise, the results were discussed and relevant instructions were given.
