The State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, within its competence, continues to take necessary measures to ensure fire safety in the country.

In this context, during the inspection in the construction materials sales facility belonging to “Unimetal” CJSC located in 29 Z. Bunyadov Avenue, Narimanov district, Baku city, the State Fire Control Service identified numerous shortcomings in the field of fire safety, which posed a direct threat to human life or health, environment and state property interests.

Thus:

– electrical supply and electrical devices of the facility were not installed in accordance with the requirements of the “Rules for the Installation of Electrical Devices”

– cable and wire connection areas and ends were not fixed with special clamps or by welding in order to prevent the formation of conductive resistance that can cause a fire hazard;

– temporarily installed power lines, open-ended, insulation coating damaged and broken wires were used;

– electric lines were laid over flammable constructions in some areas of the facility;

– roads, passages, entrances for free access to buildings and facilities, open warehouses, water sources used for extinguishing fires, stationary fire ladders and fire inverters storing places were closed;

– the territory of the facility, including the fire protection distances between the open warehouses were not cleaned of combustible waste and other combustible materials in a timely manner, combustible and other wastes were not collected and transported in special non-combustible boxes (containers) and waste was burned in the area;

– there were no fire protection distances between the sales places and the goods were collected for the purpose of sale;

– the lighting of the area at night was not provided in order to quickly find fire water sources, entrances to buildings;

– warning signs banning smoking were not installed in the territory of the facility.

Thus, the current situation shows that as a result of the continuation of the operation of the facility, the fire that can occur at any time will expand in a short time and make the tragedy inevitable.

Taking into account the above-mentioned, in accordance with the law, a decision was made to partially suspend the work and services in the construction materials sales facility belonging to “Unimetal” CJSC located in 29 Z. Bunyadov Avenue, Narimanov district, Baku city and a copy of the decision was submitted to the representative of the facility.
