Mexican Ambassador Explores Strategic Cooperation with Nakhchivan

Nakhchivan: Jeyhun Jalilov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, met with Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, the Mexican Ambassador to Azerbaijan, to discuss the evolving relationship between the two countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting celebrated the robust development of Azerbaijani-Mexican relations, which are founded on friendship and trust under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and acknowledged the agreements achieved within the peace framework between Azerbaijan and Armenia. They underscored the strategic significance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in facilitating communication along the Middle Corridor.

The discussions also touched upon the region's economic potential, focusing on renewable energy opportunities and the benefits of a 10-year tax exemption for entrepreneurs. There was a shared interest in transforming Nakhchivan into a future free economic zone. Additionally, the prospects for collaboration between Nakhchivan and leading Mexican higher education institutions were discussed, including the signing of memoranda, dual diploma programs, student exchanges, and joint academic projects.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed cooperation within international organizations, with both sides confident in maintaining productive relations. Ambassador Maria Victoria Romero Caballero noted that her visit aimed to gain insights into Nakhchivan and participate in the exhibition "Diego Rivera: The Promise of a Better Future."
