Mexico’s Embassy in Iran to Operate from Baku Amidst Complex Situation in Iran

Baku: The Embassy of Mexico in the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its activities in Baku, as confirmed by Mexico's ambassador to Iran, Guillermo Puente Ordorica. The ambassador, who was evacuated from Iran through the Azerbaijan border, stated that the embassy will now function out of Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Ordorica noted his arrival in Azerbaijan, explaining, "My government instructed me to relocate our embassy here with the support of the Government of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Mexico. That is why my team and I are here." He highlighted the complexity of the situation in Iran and emphasized Azerbaijan's status as a friendly nation with strong bilateral relations with Mexico.

The ambassador further elaborated on his frequent visits to Azerbaijan during his tenure as ambassador to Iran, stating, "I visit Azerbaijan frequently. During the years when I served as ambassador to Iran, I also came here several times. But this time, as I said, I have come to work in Baku with my team and to support the Mexican community in Iran." He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the current situation in Iran.
