Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, emphasized the country's commitment to aligning its actions with national interests during a press conference reviewing the past year's developments. He highlighted how global events are prompting nations to adapt and implement necessary measures.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov reflected on the events in Syria from a year ago, stating they remain prominent in the collective memory. He noted that significant changes followed those events in the context of Azerbaijan-Syria relations. Previously, there had been no diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Bashar al-Assad regime due to actions perceived as unfriendly. However, alterations have occurred, allowing for the restoration of Azerbaijan's embassy in Syria after a 13-year hiatus. Furthermore, Azerbaijan has resumed gas exports to Syria, marking Syria as the 14th country to receive Azerbaijani gas via pipeline.

Bayramov reiterated that Azerbaijan will persistently observe global processes and ensure that its steps align with national interests.
