Baku – Sahiba Gafarova, Chair of the Milli Majlis, expressed criticism towards the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s perceived double standards in its approach to Azerbaijan. In a meeting with Pia Kauma, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Gafarova highlighted the unacceptable nature of these standards, as reported by APA. She emphasized that these standards were apparent during Armenia’s nearly 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani lands and have persisted since Azerbaijan liberated its territories.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan remains the primary advocate for a safe and stable future in the South Caucasus and is committed to the regional peace agenda. However, she lamented that Armenia not only refrains from peace efforts but also misleads the international community with baseless accusations. Gafarova pointed out that Armenia continues to use every opportunity and platform to malign Azerbaijan, with some international organizations supporting these unfounded claims. She stressed the importance of preventing any distortion of the real situation and the perpetuation of hatred and animosity. Gafarova emphasized the need for the OSCE PA to avoid actions that might propagate false Armenian propaganda against Azerbaijan.
