Baku: A landmine explosion occurred on September 10, 2026, in the Papravand village of the liberated Aghdara district, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a joint statement by the Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) detailed the incident. The victim, Sarkhan Bakhtiyar oglu Rustamzade, born in 2005 and a resident of the Tartar district, was riding a horse through an uncleared area when the horse stepped on an anti-personnel mine. Rustamzade sustained light injuries during the incident.

ANAMA personnel responded promptly to the situation, safely evacuating the citizen from the hazardous zone. The Tartar District Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the incident to gather more information and ensure accountability.

In response to this event, ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office have reiterated their call for citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules. They emphasized the importance of paying close attention to landmine warning signs, refraining from touching suspicious objects, staying out of unfamiliar areas, and avoiding trespassing into fenced-off zones.
