Azerbaijan: 'Azerbaijan has resolved one of the region's most complex and longest-lasting territorial conflicts,' said Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov during his speech at the special session titled 'Cities at the Heart of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation,' held within the framework of the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Jabbarov highlighted Azerbaijan's significant achievement in reducing the poverty rate from 49 percent to 5 percent in less than 20 years. This accomplishment is part of the country's broader strategy to enhance economic development and improve the well-being of its citizens.
He further pointed out the necessity of establishing strong links between the economic development of cities and connectivity. Jabbarov emphasized that the well-being of people should be at the center of all these processes, indicating a forward-looking approach to urban reconstruction and regional cooperation.
