Baku: The global crisis, marked by disruptions in oil and energy supply chains and a substantial 30 percent reduction in overall supply, has underscored the critical importance of secure and reliable energy supply, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov stated during his address at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Shahbazov emphasized that in the face of geopolitical changes, reshaping transit routes, and increasing uncertainty, Azerbaijan's strategic significance is further amplified under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He highlighted Azerbaijan's role in connecting the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Adriatic Sea through stable routes, establishing the nation not only as a dependable energy supplier but also as a pivotal strategic player in transforming the Caspian region into a crucial logistics and connectivity hub within the Middle Corridor.
Minister Shahbazov pointed out that while the 20th century gauged a state's strength by production volumes, the 21st century sees secure routes, connectivity, and reliable partnerships as the main determinants of power. Azerbaijan uniquely combines all these advantages, positioning itself as a key player in the global energy landscape.
