Baku: The holding of the 26th International Conference of the heads of fire-rescue services of member countries of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers in Azerbaijan is of great importance, stated Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov during the opening ceremony of the event.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Heydarov emphasized that the conference is a crucial step in expanding international cooperation. He remarked on the historical challenges faced by humanity in dealing with natural and man-made events, highlighting Azerbaijan’s exposure to such risks. The minister pointed out that the development of industrial and infrastructure networks in recent years has underscored the need for effective emergency response mechanisms. The Ministry of Emergency Situations, instituted in 2005 by President Ilham Aliyev’s directive, plays a vital role in addressing these incidents promptly and enhancing international collaboration. Heydarov also noted the long-standing history of Azerbaijan’s fire-fighting system.
