Minister: Negotiations Underway to Ensure Visa-Free Travel with 5 Countries

Baku: 'Negotiations are ongoing with five countries to ensure visa-free travel,' said Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, in response to a question from APA TV at a press conference summarizing the results of the year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is carrying out continuous efforts to increase the number of countries offering a visa-free regime to facilitate travel for Azerbaijani citizens. Bayramov highlighted that the ministry considers and analyzes several factors, including the principle of reciprocity, when engaging in negotiations. Presently, Azerbaijani citizens enjoy visa-free travel with countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Serbia, and China. However, this applies only to ordinary citizens, as the number of countries cooperating with Azerbaijan on diplomatic visas is significantly larger.

In 2025 alone, ten agreements related to diplomatic passports have been signed with foreign countries, increasing the total number of such agreements to 74.
