Baku: The Embassy of Morocco in Azerbaijan hosted a reception on July 30 to mark the country's national day, Throne Day. The event began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Morocco. Moroccan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammed Adil Embarch highlighted the strengthening friendly relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan, emphasizing their solid partnership based on mutual respect, political trust, and commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ambassador noted the intensification of political dialogue, increased high-level contacts, and expanded bilateral cooperation covering a growing number of areas. Economic and trade ties are expanding, while contacts between the peoples are becoming increasingly closer. The agreement on visa-free travel has invigorated tourism and people-to-people exchanges, creating new opportunities for business, investment, and mutual understanding.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, stated that the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation plays a special role in advancing relations between the two countries. He highlighted the contribution of the visa-free regime in expanding people-to-people contacts and developing tourism and business ties, noting a 28 percent increase in tourists from Morocco to Azerbaijan last year. Karimli also mentioned a 5 percent increase in bilateral trade turnover compared with the previous period.

Starting this year, under a bilateral agreement, students from both countries will participate in reciprocal academic exchange programs. This momentum provides a favorable basis for further expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the countries and for effectively utilizing existing potential. The reception concluded with a banquet following the official speeches.
