Baku: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, has expressed strong condemnation of the recent drone attacks against Azerbaijan. In a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, Bourita addressed the situation regarding the drone strikes carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 5, 2026, targeting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayramov provided detailed information to his Moroccan counterpart about the attacks, emphasizing that these actions infringe upon Azerbaijan's sovereignty and violate international law norms and principles. He highlighted the potential for these attacks to escalate tensions in the region.
Minister Nasser Bourita firmly denounced the drone strikes, expressing concern over the incident and reaffirming Morocco's solidarity with Azerbaijan. The conversation between the ministers also included discussions on other issues of mutual interest between their countries.
