MP: Georgia-Azerbaijan Relations Have Further Strengthened

Georgia: 'Azerbaijan is Georgia's neighbor and strategic partner. During Georgia's independence, Azerbaijan has confirmed its strategic relations with us,' said Tengiz Sharmanashvili, a member of Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream party, while commenting on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit of the Azerbaijani head of state to Georgia is of particular importance for further strengthening the existing relations. Sharmanashvili emphasized that Azerbaijan has supported Georgia on numerous occasions, especially during challenging times. The strategic pipelines that run from Azerbaijan through Georgia towards Turkey and Europe are a testament to this strong partnership.

Sharmanashvili further noted that these special relations between the two countries have continued to strengthen, particularly in the context of supporting peace processes in the Caucasus region. He expressed hope that a lasting peace in the area will ultimately be established.
