Nairobi: A briefing was held in Nairobi for representatives of international organizations and the diplomatic corps regarding the preparations for the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). Participants were informed about the preparatory work and overall action plan for the event, which is scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the briefing coincided with the 3rd session of the UN-Habitat Executive Board and aimed to enhance cooperation between diplomatic representatives, the Government of Azerbaijan, and UN-Habitat. The collaboration seeks to support both WUF13 and its expected outcomes.
The event was moderated by Sultan Hajiyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kenya and Congo, and the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN in Nairobi. UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaklaudia Rossbach and Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and national coordinator of WUF13, urged active participation in the Forum. They emphasized the mobilization of national and institutional partners to contribute to the event’s success.
Anar Guliyev highlighted the significance of active engagement in the collaboration process. He encouraged colleagues to involve themselves in developing solutions during the global urban planning event in Baku, aimed at improving the lives of city residents.
