National Identity and Secularism to Become Key Principles of Azerbaijan’s General Education Policy

Baku: National identity and secularism are being included among the main principles of state policy in the field of general education, APA reports. This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law on General Education discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft law emphasizes the establishment and development of a secular general education system based on the preservation of national and universal values and ensuring their dialectical unity. The inclusion of these principles aims to foster a balanced educational framework that respects both national traditions and secular values.

The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading, marking a significant step toward implementing these principles in Azerbaijan's general education policy.
