Brussels: Natural gas prices in Europe have surged by more than 19% amidst ongoing military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran. The price of 1,000 cubic meters of gas in Europe surpassed $465 during today's trading session.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the April futures price on the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) index, which is Europe's most liquid virtual trading hub, reached $465.4. This marks a significant increase of 19.3% from the previous settlement price of $390.1.
Adding to the dynamic energy landscape, Azerbaijani gas has been transported to Europe since December 31, 2020, through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). This development has been an essential factor in the region's energy supply, especially during periods of geopolitical tension that impact market prices and stability.
