Negotiations with BP are being completed in connection with the construction of a 240 MW solar power plant (SPP) in Jabrail, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Sahib Alekperov said at a scientific conference on the topic “The role of Heydar Aliyev in the formation of a competitive economy.” According to him, the implementation of major projects in the field of “green” energy has begun in the country.

Alekperov noted that as part of the work in the field of “green” energy, projects are being implemented jointly with Masdar (UAE) and ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia).

An agreement has been reached between the Ministry of Energy and BP on the next steps within the framework of the SPP project being implemented in the south-western region of Azerbaijan. In order to take the next steps on the 240 MW SPP construction project in Jabrayil, an addendum to the implementation contract concluded in June 2021 was signed. This project includes taking measures to complete joint activities for the implementation of the “Shafag” solar power plant project
