Baku:As part of the preparations for the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party YAP), 84 local party organizations conducted reporting conferences from September 7 to 19, 2026, involving a total of 16,239 participants. These conferences reviewed the progress made since the 7th Congress.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office of YAP, stated at the 8th Congress that President Ilham Aliyev's policies received unanimous support in these conferences. Budagov highlighted Aliyev's significant contributions to Azerbaijan's achievements, independence, and territorial integrity.

Based on the outcomes of the reporting conferences, 960 delegates were elected by district and city organizations to attend the 8th Congress. Tahir Budagov also presented the agenda for the Congress, which was unanimously approved, and delivered a report on the YAP Board's activities since the last Congress.
