AZERTAC from the party’s press serviceOpening the event with the participation of members of the YAP Veterans Council and activists of the party’s regional organizations, YAP Board member, chairman of the party’s Veterans Council Arif Rahimzadeh said that today’s conference is dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi. By the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev, 2021 has been declared the “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” in our country. As noted in the order, the anniversaries of Nizami Ganjavi have always been celebrated in our country. National leader Heydar Aliyev, who always approached the classical literary and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan from the standpoint of national prejudice and patriotism, always paid special attention to the heritage of Nizami. The study of the legacy of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, adopted in 1979 on the initiative of the Great Leader, The decision “On measures to further improve the publication and promotion” opened new perspectives for the study and promotion of Nizami’s work. The 840th anniversary celebrations of the immortal artist, held in 1981 with the direct initiative and participation of the Great Leader, have become a significant event in the cultural life of the country. In 2011, the 870th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi was widely celebrated at the state level with a series of events.

He said that the Leader of the Azerbaijanis of the world, President Ilham Aliyev, was also distinguished by the discovery of many different ways and methods to promote Nizami in the modern world. In this sense, he noted that the announcement of 2021 by the President of Azerbaijan as the “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” has a very deep socio-political content.

According to Tahir Mammadov, a member of the Council of Veterans, Nizami Ganjavi, a prominent poet and genius thinker of the Azerbaijani people, a great master of words, enriched not only Azerbaijani literature, but also the vocabulary of the whole world. Bricklayers, stone-cutters, architects, painters, musicians and calligraphers, who created the image of the poet in his works and painted it with full artistic colors, are actively engaged in creative work in the liberated villages and cities of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Ayna Alikhanova, an activist of the Nasimi district branch of the New Azerbaijan Party, spoke about the work of Nizami Ganjavi and the importance of declaring 2021 the “Year of Nizami Ganjavi.” He said that Nizami Ganjavi’s spiritual wealth prevailed over everything. He dedicated his immortal, unique work to the glorification of noble feelings, humanism, kindness and justice. It is no exaggeration to say that Nizami Ganjavi is one of the greatest poets in the world, and his works will always be a source of inspiration for us, as well as for future generations.
