BAKU — The CBC television channel's latest documentary, "Mayotte: Island of Death," which explores the challenging conditions faced by residents of Mayotte, a French colonial territory, was presented in Baku, Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, At the premiere, Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, discussed the film's portrayal of the hardships on Mayotte, where 30% of the population reportedly lacks official documentation and faces high levels of crime. The documentary aims to bring international attention to the social and administrative issues on the island, highlighting the urgent need for calm and stability amidst ongoing turmoil.
