Rustavi: Georgia's Roads Department under the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced an international tender to replace the existing highways connecting Georgia with Azerbaijan and Armenia with new four-lane roads.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the project, valued at 250 million euros, will be financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank. The initiative aims to improve the transportation network by constructing new highways beginning in the city of Rustavi, extending towards the Red Bridge and Sadakhlo. The tender covers the construction of 61.3 kilometers of four-lane roads.

Currently, the highways linking Georgia with its neighboring countries of Azerbaijan and Armenia consist of two lanes and primarily pass through densely populated areas. The new roads are designed to handle higher traffic volumes and will bypass these populated regions, thus enhancing traffic flow and reducing congestion.

Interested companies have until August 14 to submit their bids for the tender lots, marking a significant step towards the project's commencement.
