Baku:A new indoor ski resort, Ski Center Baku, has opened its doors, marking its place as the world's second-largest facility of its kind.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the opening ceremony of this expansive center was attended by notable figures, including Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, and the President of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, Fuad Naghiyev, among other officials.
The facility spans 2,800 square meters and is equipped with three 'MaxxTracks' training slopes and an 'Olympus SkyTech' simulator. These features provide opportunities for year-round training in skiing and snowboarding.
The center aims to foster youth engagement in winter sports. It plans to roll out school programs, organize training groups, and conduct coaching seminars to support this goal.
