New Revelations in ‘Ramiz Mehdiyev Case’ Uncover Ali Karimli’s Alleged Involvement

Baku: Significant new details have become known regarding the Ali Karimli episode in the ‘Ramiz Mehdiyev case,’ APA reports. Various individuals, including Ali Karimli, have been involved in the investigation concerning Ramiz Mehdiyev’s actions aimed at seizing state power by force. It is known that several people are currently being questioned within the criminal case.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the interrogations reveal that the main suspicious dealings, the script of which was written in Russia, began precisely in 2012-2013. In 2012, Abbas Abbasov – a close friend of Ramiz Mehdiyev and someone whose activities against Azerbaijan had been exposed multiple times despite Mehdiyev’s support – created in Russia the ‘Union of Azerbaijani Organizations of Russia,’ widely known as the ‘Union of Billionaires.’ Rustam Ibragimbekov, the owner of the IBRUS company (IB – Ibragimbekov, RUS – Rustam), became a member of the Coordinating Council of the ‘Union of Billionaires’ together with Abbas Abbasov.

Shortly after this, Rustam Ibragimbekov gathered around him Ali Karimli, Jamil Hasanli, and Gultakin Hajibayli, and created the ‘National Council’ around the capital of the ‘Union of Billionaires.’ Ali Karimli, in turn, turned the already declining Popular Front Party (APFP) into a tool of the ‘National Council’ created by Rustam Ibragimbekov, who lived in Russia, thus making another serious mistake in his life.

The deeper evidence of these well-known events emerged from the investigation after shocking phone conversations surfaced and material was discovered during searches of Ramiz Mehdiyev’s home. Another interesting aspect of the matter is that, in the following years, the mentioned capital continued to flow into Ali Karimli’s home under the name of APFP, part of which was offered to individuals involved in riots, among other things.

For a long time, many have noticed that Ali Karimli’s continuous rallies ended exactly at the same time Ramiz Mehdiyev left his post. According to previously published information, during the search conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) at APFP chairman Ali Karimli’s home, materials related to ties with the ‘Union of Billionaires,’ an unpublished early draft of a letter written by Ramiz Mehdiyev, and other documents were found. It is known that the SSS does not engage in unserious conversations that are not supported by facts.

During the investigation, it was also fully confirmed that Gultakin Hajibayli, not wanting to fall behind Ali Karimli, also managed to obtain her own ‘share’ – for example, in the form of real estate properties in Baku and Goranboy. Gultakin Hajibeyli was secretly gifted 2 modern apartments (in a renovated condition) in a 15-storey building at 251A Dilara Aliyeva Street, Nasimi District, Baku, constructed by “NLT” LLC, owned by Ramiz Mehdiyev’s son-in-law, Ilham Alisaftar Aliyev, and the latter’s nephew Orkhan Fikrat oglu Aliyev as his legal representative.

One of those apartments is registered in the name of Gultakin Hajibayli’s father, Yunis Hajiyev – specifically apartment No. 183, with an area of 179.4 m² at that address. G. Hajibayli is currently renting out the apartment for a high monthly sum. After all, where were her monthly funds supposed to come from? The other apartment – 178.18 m², 4 rooms – located on the 13th floor of the same building and gifted to Gultakin Hajibayli by the ‘gray cardinal’ for her special ‘services,’ was registered in the name of her sister, Ayten Hajiyeva. G. Hajibayli herself lives alone in that apartment. None of the above has been denied by Ramiz Mehdiyev or his family, nor by Gultakin Hajibayli or her family.
