Baku: A tender has been announced for the construction of the second section of the Tbilisi-Rustavi road of the Tbilisi-Red Bridge international highway, which runs to the Azerbaijani border in Georgia. The project aims to enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the region.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia has outlined plans for the construction of a 3.6-kilometer road and two new bridges measuring 211 and 170 meters over the Kura River in the Ponichala section. The project will also feature recreation areas and safe pedestrian zones equipped with traffic lights along the coast.

In addition to the road and pedestrian infrastructure, a two-level transport interchange will be constructed to meet the requirements of both local and international transit transportation. A single-level interchange is also planned for the Ponichala area to manage local traffic flow effectively.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia highlighted that the new road section will reduce the intensity of freight and transit transportation on city streets, shorten travel times, and enhance safety. The construction will adhere to relevant construction, environmental, and social standards to ensure a comprehensive approach to development.
