Baku: The recent meeting of the Senior Officials Committee of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place on July 22 at the Secretariat's administrative building in Astana. This session was conducted under the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting focused on the initiatives undertaken during Azerbaijan's Chairmanship of CICA. The central theme was "A Stronger CICA: Digitalization, Connectivity and Sustainable Development in Asia." Discussions aimed at enhancing trust and cooperation among member states were a key part of the agenda.

During the session, the Azerbaijani Chairmanship shared updates on the transformation of CICA into an international organization. Notable progress in negotiations regarding the draft Charter was highlighted, and member states exchanged views on their respective positions regarding this development.
