Mammadbeyli: The latest resettlement convoy has successfully arrived in the village of Khidirli in the Aghdam district. At this stage, keys to their homes were presented to 50 families comprising 219 people who are relocating to Khidirli village. Representatives of the Special Presidential Representative’s Office for the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, as well as officials from the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, took part in the ceremony.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the next relocation caravan also reached the village of Mammadbayli in the Zangilan district. Here, 30 families totaling 143 people have been relocated and were presented with keys to their new homes. The movement of these families is part of a broader initiative directed by President Ilham Aliyev, known as the Great Return, which aims to resettle individuals in liberated territories.
The families who have returned to their ancestral lands in both Mammadbayli and Khidirli were previously residing in various temporary accommodations across the country, including dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings. The returning residents expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the state care extended to them. They also thanked the Azerbaijani Army and its soldiers for liberating the lands, and paid their respects to the martyrs who lost their lives in the process.
