Paris: The Novruz holiday, an occasion jointly organized by the permanent missions of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Trkiye, Mongolia, and Turkmenistan, was celebrated with enthusiasm at the UNESCO headquarters.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event witnessed participation from permanent representatives of UNESCO member countries, the organization's Director-General Khaled El-Enany, as well as representatives from the diplomatic corps, diaspora organizations, and the local community. The celebration emphasized the cultural significance of Novruz, reflecting the shared heritage of these nations.

During the opening ceremony, Dilshod Kamolzoda Rahimi, Tajikistan's Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, addressed the gathering on behalf of the 13 countries, underscoring the spiritual importance of the Novruz holiday. The cultural event featured a fashion collection by national designer Leyla Babazade, showcasing the rich traditions associated with the holiday.

Attendees were treated to performances of national music and dances by representatives from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, highlighting the diverse cultural expressions of these nations. The event also offered visitors an opportunity to familiarize themselves with various national cuisines, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Novruz, recognized for its cultural significance, was included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009, further solidifying its importance as a celebration that unites multiple cultures and communities.
