Novruz Holiday Celebrated with Festive Event in Oslo

Oslo: The Azerbaijan House in Oslo, the capital of Norway, hosted a festive event marking the Novruz holiday. The event brought together students of the Azerbaijani language weekend school in Oslo, named after Nizami Ganjavi, along with their parents.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, participants were briefed on the rich national and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, as well as the history and traditions of Novruz. Recognized as one of the oldest and most beloved holidays in Azerbaijan, Novruz symbolizes the arrival of spring, renewal, and unity. Such events aim to instill national identity, native language, traditions, and cultural heritage in Azerbaijani children living abroad.

The event continued with an artistic program featuring poetry recitations, music, and dance performances by the students. Participants also viewed traditional Novruz symbols, including samani (sprouting wheat) and tongal (bonfire), and sampled national sweets associated with the holiday.
