Number of flats in Azerbaijan rose by 5.2%

In 2022, total number of flats in Azerbaijan rose by 116,391 units or 5.2% to 2,330,200. This was reported to Turan by the State Statistics Committee. Last year, the number of flats rose by 60,500 units. As of the beginning of 2023, there were 637,400 flats in Baku. Of these, there are 85,217 one-bedroom flats, 214,543 two-bedroom flats, 212,388 three-bedroom flats, 83,843 four-bedroom flats, and 41,435 five-bedroom flats and more. There are 134,300 flats in Absheron region (+14.1%). This is approximately as much as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with a population of 450,000. Add that the total area of housing in Azerbaijan is 227.4 million square meters, which is up by 26.7 million m2 from the beginning of 2022. According to official estimates, the total area of flats in Baku is 60.4 million m2. This is 17% higher than the figure recorded at the beginning of 2022. Worthy of note is that the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has the highest average living space per person – 31 m2. For all Azerbaijan this index makes up 20 m2, in Baku
