Number of Foreign Visitors to Azerbaijan Increased by More Than 5% Last Month

Baku: In January of this year, 181,800 foreigners and stateless persons from 158 countries visited Azerbaijan, marking a 5.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, data from the State Statistical Committee reveals that 23.4% of these visitors were from the Russian Federation, 20.1% from Turkey, 8.5% from Iran, and 5% from India. Other notable visitor origins include Saudi Arabia with 4.9%, Georgia with 4.8%, and Pakistan with 3.7%. Additional countries contributing to the influx were Kazakhstan at 3.1%, Uzbekistan at 2.8%, and Israel at 2.7%. Visitors from Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine were also recorded, with respective percentages of 2.0%, 1.7%, 1.4%, and 1.3%. Meanwhile, 13.3% of the arrivals were citizens of various other countries. Of the total visitors, 71.1% were men and 28.9% were women.

Further details show that the number of visitors from European Union member states rose by 41.9% to 7,200 individuals. Visitors from Gulf countries increased by 4.3% to 34,600 people, while those from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries saw a 4.7% rise to 58,600 individuals. The number of visitors from other countries also experienced a 3.8% growth, totaling 81,400 people.
