Number of People Visiting Azerbaijan from Israel Increased by Fourfold


Baku: In January-February 2025, 338.6 thousand or 0.7% fewer foreign citizens and non-citizen persons arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan from 162 countries, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 23.4% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 18.6% from Trkiye, 9.9% from India, 9.3% from Iran, 5.0% from Georgia, 3.3% from Kazakhstan, 3.2% from Pakistan, and 2.9% each from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Other notable percentages include 1.8% from Kuwait, 1.7% from Uzbekistan, 1.6% from China, 1.4% each from Turkmenistan and Ukraine, 1.2% from Israel, 1.1% from Oman, with 11.3% coming from other countries. Among these arrivals, 72.2% were men, and 27.8% were women.



Compared to the same period last year, arrivals from Israel increased by 3.9 times. There were notable increases from other countries as well, including a 1.9 times increase from Tajikistan, 1.8 times from China, and 1.7 times from Spain. Arrivals from Jordan increased by 44.6%, from India by 44.0%, from Kyrgyzstan by 25.7%, from Kazakhstan by 21.0%, from Pakistan by 19.6%, from Egypt by 18.9%, from the United States by 17.4%, and from the Netherlands by 16.5%.



In contrast, arrivals from European Union member states decreased by 1.6%, totaling 11,000 people. Arrivals from Gulf countries decreased by 9.9%, totaling 62.1 thousand people, and arrivals from CIS countries decreased by 9.2%, totaling 107.4 thousand people. However, the number of arrivals from other countries increased by 10.8%, reaching 158.1 thousand people.



Among the foreign citizens and non-citizen persons arriving in the country, 71.2% used air transport, 27.2% used railway and road transport, and 1.6% used sea transport.
