Baku: The reason for the postponement of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s visit to Azerbaijan has been revealed, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aykhan Hajizada, stated that the visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, to the region was initially expected to commence from the Republic of Azerbaijan. This visit was scheduled for October 13. However, due to President Ilham Aliyev’s invitation to the Middle East Peace Summit and the participation of both himself and the delegation he leads in the summit, the visit was postponed. Currently, efforts are being made to determine new dates for the Finnish Foreign Minister’s visit to Azerbaijan.
It is noted that the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office visited Armenia today and met with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Furthermore, she will also visit Georgia as part of her regional tour.
