Baku: Global oil prices have exceeded $96 per barrel, APA-Economics reports. Brent crude oil futures for September delivery on the ICE exchange rose by $2.08, or 2.21%, to reach $96.15 per barrel. Meanwhile, September futures for WTI crude on the NYMEX exchange increased by $1.51, or 1.74%, settling at $88.34 per barrel. According to Azeri-Press news agency, the primary factors contributing to the rise in prices include renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have heightened concerns over potential supply disruptions. Additionally, there is a growing investor sentiment that global oil supplies could face constraints, further fueling the price surge.
