Baku: Oman is set to enhance its trade turnover of agricultural products with Azerbaijan, following a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, and Oman’s Minister of Economy, Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri. The meeting underscored the potential for boosting bilateral cooperation in agriculture and related sectors.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Majnun Mammadov emphasized the potential for strengthening bilateral relations through entrepreneurship and regular information exchange on export-oriented products. He also highlighted the importance of participating in international exhibitions hosted by both countries to further these goals.

During the discussions, Mammadov pointed out the necessity of developing a legal framework to support cooperation in specific areas. This framework would facilitate the expansion of agricultural trade and collaboration between Azerbaijan and Oman.

The Omani Economy Minister, Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri, expressed Oman’s readiness to enhance bilateral trade relations. He voiced support for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources to formalize this commitment.

The meeting also covered projects aimed at effective agricultural implementation in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as well as discussions on fisheries, technology transfer, and experience exchange, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to enhancing agricultural cooperation between the two nations.
