One-Time Financial Assistance Granted to World War II Participants in Azerbaijan

Baku: One-time financial assistance has been distributed to participants of World War II and other designated individuals as per an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on April 24, 2026, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population informed APA. This initiative coincides with the 81st anniversary of the Victory over German fascism in World War II.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population allocated a one-time financial assistance of 2,750 manats to each World War II participant. Additionally, 1,500 manats were disbursed to widows of soldiers who died during or after the war, individuals recognized with orders and medals for their work in the rear, employees of special units who assisted the army and navy, and those awarded for the defense of Leningrad or who participated in its siege.

The order benefitted nearly 2,000 individuals, including 13 World War II participants. The financial assistance has been successfully transferred to their bank accounts, ensuring support for those who contributed significantly during the wartime period.
