OPEC Reveals Global Oil Demand Forecast for 2026-2027

Vienna: The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has released its forecast for average global daily oil demand for the years 2026-2027. The forecast indicates an increase in demand, reflecting trends in global energy consumption.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, OPEC's monthly report projects that the average global daily oil demand in 2026 will reach 106.52 million barrels per day. This figure remains unchanged from previous forecasts and represents an increase of 1.38 million barrels per day compared to 2025, which saw a demand of 105.13 million barrels per day.

Looking ahead to 2027, OPEC forecasts that the average global daily oil demand will rise to 107.86 million barrels per day. This projection also remains unchanged and is 1.34 million barrels per day higher than the expected demand for 2026.

In 2024, the average global daily oil demand was recorded at 103.84 million barrels per day, illustrating a steady increase in demand over the years as projected by OPEC's reports.
