‘Orient Express – From Vienna to Baku’ Concert Showcased at International Music Festival

Baku:The 'Orient Express - From Vienna to Baku' concert program was showcased at the Rashid Behbudov Azerbaijan State Song Theatre on September 26. This event was part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival and was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the concert featured the direction of Austrian conductor, composer, and arranger Markus Geiselhart. The Variety Symphony Orchestra accompanied the performance, which combined elements of modern orchestral jazz, improvisation, and national music.

The program included works by Markus Geiselhart, as well as compositions by Azerbaijani composers such as Rafig Babayev and Rauf Hajiyev, alongside pieces by international composers.

Notable performers at the concert included Azad Guliyev (solo alto saxophone, Honored Artist), Firudin Hamidov (solo trumpet), Atabey Ismayilov (solo tar), Hakim Abdullayev (solo zurna and tutek), and pianists Afshin Alizade, Elbay Mammadzade, and Ali Jafarzade. Vocalist Fakhri Kazim-Nijat also contributed to the evening's performances.
