OSCE Chair Declares Imminent Peace Between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Switzerland: Switzerland welcomes the progress achieved in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and believes that lasting peace is now within reach, Swiss Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ignazio Cassis said at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ignazio Cassis stated that nearly a year after the peace agreement was initialed, the parties have come very close to signing the final agreement. He expressed Switzerland's pride in contributing to the steps taken toward peace and encouraged continued efforts to finalize the agreement. Cassis emphasized the importance of this agreement for reconciliation and stability in the region.

The Swiss minister reiterated his country's readiness to support the peace process if requested by the parties involved. He highlighted Switzerland's experience in confidence-building in the South Caucasus and expressed willingness to continue contributing to the peace efforts.
