Baku: OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Federal Councillor and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis has announced the start of his first official visit to Azerbaijan, highlighting Switzerland's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Cassis expressed his enthusiasm for the visit, emphasizing Switzerland's interest in deepening ties with Azerbaijan. He pointed out the focus on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, innovation, and economic relations. Cassis also stressed the importance of advancing dialogue, peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus region during his tenure as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
Cassis shared his plans to engage in a broader regional outreach, with Turkmenistan being the next destination on his itinerary. This visit is part of Switzerland's efforts to foster constructive relations and address regional challenges under the OSCE framework.
