Baku: On September 3, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, visited Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis. During this visit, discussions centered around enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE and strengthening peace and confidence in the region.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Affairs, emphasized Azerbaijan's cooperation with the OSCE and praised the country's role in promoting peace and stability. Pere Joan Pons Sampietro acknowledged Azerbaijan's strategic geopolitical importance and its contributions to Europe's economic and logistical connectivity. He also highlighted Azerbaijan's involvement in global economic and transport projects and its role as a reliable energy supplier to Europe, alongside its approach to promoting peace with Armenia.
During meetings with members of Azerbaijan's delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, MP Gaya Mammadov focused on the South Caucasus peace process and regional economic opportunities. Azerbaijani delegates Azay Guliyev, Sevinj Fataliyeva, and Tural Ganjaliyev discussed peace talks, regional connectivity, and landmine threats in liberated territories. The OSCE PA President expressed support for the regional peacebuilding process and the organization's adaptation to new geopolitical realities to ensure lasting peace.
