Osh, Kyrgyzstan – Three deputy chiefs of the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region have been dismissed from their positions following a physical altercation. This development was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
According to 24.kg News Agency, the incident occurred on November 23 near an apartment building in Osh and involved the heads of the Internal Affairs Department of the Osh region. The fight gained attention after being shared on social media, leading to an official registration of the incident and the commencement of an investigation.
An investigative team and members of the internal investigations department conducted a thorough examination of the incident site. During their investigation, they collected samples of brown stains, suspected to be blood, and seized recordings from CCTV cameras as evidence.
The Ministry stated that forensic medical examinations have been ordered for the heads of the Internal Affairs Department involved in the incident. Special instructions have been issued to ensure the identification and questioning of all participants. Following the investigation, strict disciplinary actions were taken in line with the law enforcement agencies’ disciplinary charter. As part of these measures, Zhenish Zhorobekov, the head of the Internal Affairs Department of Osh region, received a “service incompetence note.”
Furthermore, the deputy chiefs for operational work, public security, and personnel—police colonels Almaz Usenaliev, Salmoorbek Sheraliev, and Ulan Asanbaev, respectively—were terminated from their positions.
The Ministry’s statement concluded by emphasizing their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the police force. All materials related to the incident will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for legal assessment, and the Internal Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue its efforts to cleanse its ranks of staff who undermine the police’s authority.
