Baku: This meeting is of great historical significance for our peoples, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev told journalists as part of the "Turkic World Week" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Omuraliev emphasized the importance of the congress, stating, "This is not only about our language and alphabet; it is the greatest legacy for future generations." He highlighted the historic nature of the event, recalling how the congress was originally held by their ancestors in Baku. Now, a century later, the anniversary is being celebrated with reverence and pride.
Omuraliev further reminded attendees that the foundation for the 100th anniversary celebration was laid the previous year at the Gabala Summit. This initiative was spearheaded by President Ilham Aliyev, showcasing the commitment to preserving and honoring the legacy of the congress for future generations.
