Baku: From 08:00 on February 28 to 18:00 on March 9, a total of 2,057 people were evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the evacuees included a diverse group of individuals from various countries, highlighting an international effort to ensure the safety and well-being of foreign nationals in Iran.

Among the evacuees, 362 were citizens of Azerbaijan. The evacuation also saw significant numbers from other countries, including 594 citizens of China and 291 from Russia. Additionally, 174 individuals from Tajikistan and 137 from Pakistan were part of the evacuation process. Other countries with notable numbers included Oman with 57 citizens, Italy with 44, and Indonesia with 32.

The evacuation encompassed individuals from a wide array of nations, reflecting a broad international presence in Iran. Citizens from Spain, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Japan, France, Germany, and Georgia were also evacuated, among others. Smaller numbers of evacuees came from countries including Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Canada, and several others.

The operation demonstrated a coordinated effort to ensure the safe relocation of foreign nationals. Among the more than 2,000 evacuees were also individuals from countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, Belgium, Romania, Serbia, Afghanistan, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Australia, and many more, with each nation represented by a few citizens.

This evacuation effort underscores the importance of international collaboration in times of crisis, ensuring that citizens from a multitude of countries receive the assistance and support they need. The operation also highlighted the logistical challenges faced in organizing such a diverse evacuation, requiring coordination and cooperation among various national and international entities.
