The conversation focused on the security situation in the region and the effects of increasing Middle Eastern tensions on both regional and global security.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the German minister expressed his concern over the drone attacks conducted by Iran against Azerbaijan. He strongly condemned these actions and affirmed Germany's solidarity with Azerbaijan during this challenging period. Additionally, Wadephul expressed gratitude towards Azerbaijan for assisting with the evacuation of German citizens from Iran.
The phone call also served as a platform for the two ministers to discuss the future development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany and to exchange views on other regional issues that hold mutual interest.
