In July of this year, 7,738 units of passenger cars were delivered to Azerbaijan, of which 1,097 units were hybrid-powered cars, another 368 were electric vehicles, the State Customs Committee reports. In total, in January-July this year, Azerbaijan purchased 52,675 units of passenger cars abroad, which is up by 38.1% from the comparable period of 2022. At that, hybrid cars (8,426 units) accounted for 16%, electric vehicles (1,492 units) accounted for 2.8% of imports. According to the State Customs Committee, in views of other types of vehicles (buses, trucks and special equipment), 56,7000 cars (+37.2%) were imported for 7 months with total amount of over $900 million (+66.2%). In the reviewed period, 1,866 units of passenger cars were assembled in Azerbaijan, which is up by 54.2% from January-July last year
